A Letter from the Founder: Discovering the Spirit of Peru

To everyone who steps onto this page, welcome.

My name is Jorge, and I am the founder of Peruvian. Like many of you reading this, my relationship with Peru is both a deeply personal anchor and a lens through which I view the world. I am Peruvian, currently living in the United States—right here in New York, one of the most vibrant hubs for the Peruvian diaspora outside of our homeland. Living away from the physical borders of Peru doesn't diminish your connection to it; if anything, it amplifies the urge to share its magic with everyone you meet.

For me, building this platform is the culmination of a lifelong dream. To be able to project a digital home like Peruvian.com out into the world is an honor I don’t take lightly. I am profoundly proud of being Peruvian. I love my country—its staggering landscapes, its ancient history, and the profound depth of its modern soul.

I have long believed that everyone, at some point in their lives, should have the opportunity to step foot in Peru. It is a place that transforms you. There is so much to see, so much to learn, and an immense amount to gain from immersing yourself in its culture and standing among its people.

But the beautiful truth about our culture is that it isn't bound by geography. You don’t necessarily have to board a flight to feel the pulse of our homeland. There are Peruvians everywhere, woven into the fabric of cities all around the world. And no matter where you find us, you will find the same unmistakable spirit. Our smiles, our warmth, and our open hospitality are universal—an enduring, unspoken invitation to connect, to sit down, and to share a moment.

Through this website, my hope is to bridge the distance. If I can share with you perhaps even just a fraction of what Peru and its people have to offer, I will consider this project a success. I want to give you just enough of a glimpse to spark your curiosity, to make you ask questions, and to inspire you to seek out more.

Peruvian is built to be a living, breathing guide to the food, the travel, the craftsmanship, and the heritage that define us, completely untethered from the transient noise of the daily news cycle. It is a place designed to stand the test of time, just like the culture it celebrates.

I invite you to explore, to dive deep into our content, and to ask questions.

Thank you for being here, for your curiosity, and for letting us share our story with you.

Sincerely,

Jorge Martinez
